Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester, MN is seeking a Laboratory Technical Assistant - Phlebotomy to join the clinical laboratory team. This 0.7 FTE shift pattern offers rotating night shifts and competitive benefits.

The role performs phlebotomy, waived tests, specimen processing, and LIS documentation while ensuring patient safety and accurate order management. Prior phlebotomy experience and BLS within 90 days are preferred. Starting pay range and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Medical terminology preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience/certification preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Computer data entry skills preferred.
• Previous laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques according to established protocols.
• Performs waived laboratory testing according to established protocols.
• Manages patient orders accurately and efficiently.
• Performs specimen processing and handling according to established protocols.
• Applies patient safety standards and patient management methods to laboratory practice.
