Job summary

Minimum qualifications include medical terminology, prior lab experience, and BLS certification within 90 days. Starting pay ranges from $20.57 to $30.86, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Medical terminology preferred.
• Previous laboratory experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in phlebotomy collection techniques and patient management, including venipuncture, capillary puncture, and arterial puncture as applies.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient preparation and specimen collection techniques for throat culture, urine, and other requested specimens.
• Demonstrates proficiency in waived level testing for immunology, urinalysis, chemistry, and hematology as applies.
• Demonstrates proficiency in documenting patient specimen flow in Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Processes specimens according to requirements, including preparation of specimens for dispatch to external labs as needed.
• Maintains a safe work environment and complies with standards for safe practice and standard precautions.
• Assists with new employee orientation and training.
• Performs other duties as requested.
