Job summary

Advocate Health's Central Lab in Concord, NC is hiring for a full-time Phlebotomy Technician to work 3rd shift (Mon–Thu, 10‑hour nights) as part of the 40‑hour work week. You will collect blood samples, process specimens, and support patient care with accurate registration and documentation.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED with phlebotomy certification preferred; familiarity with hospital lab information systems; and strict adherence to safety and infection-control policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with phlebotomy as a duty where applicable.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred for facilities where phlebotomy is assigned.
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques to perform routine tests.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, terminology and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Collects and/or processes patient blood by venipuncture/capillary puncture accurately.
• Processes nonblood specimens in a timely manner and prepares documentation.
• Performs phlebotomy following established procedures and antisepsis.
• Receives lab orders and performs routine laboratory tests per protocol.
• Maintains equipment, PPE and workspace, reports abnormal results to staff.
