Job summary

Abrazo West Campus Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician to perform routine venipuncture, receive and distribute specimens, and conduct CLIA waived tests as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), 1 year of lab experience or formal phlebotomy training, and state certification where required. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential in this fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: 1 year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.
• Certification/Registration: Phlebotomy certification where State law requires.
• Preferred: Associate degree in the laboratory or medical-related field; basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience; national phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and specimen receipt.
• Distributes laboratory specimens and handles specimen registration and billing.
• Performs CLIA waived laboratory tests as requested.
• Assists in microbiology processing and plating specimens as requested.
• Operates basic laboratory equipment and medical software.
• Maintains accuracy and timeliness of data entry and specimen processing.
