Job summary

Abrazo Scottsdale Campus Hospital, part of Tenet Healthcare, seeks a phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, specimen receipt and CLIA waived tests in a busy lab setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience: 1 year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program
• Certification/Registration: Phlebotomy certification where State law requires
• Preferred: Associate degree in laboratory or medical-related field
• Preferred: Basic laboratory computer/LIS experience

Responsibilities

• Performs routine technical and clerical functions including specimen registration and billing
• Performs specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens
• Performs phlebotomy duties as assigned
• Will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested
• Assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested
• Other related tasks as assigned

  • Demonstrates problem solving by taking the appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high volume setting.
• Minimum Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Certification/Registration: Phlebotomy certification where State law requires
• Preferred Requirements:
  • Education: Associate degree in the laboratory or medical‑related field from an accredited institution
  • Experience: Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience.
  • Certification/Registration: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar
