Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Lab Support Technician (LST I) to support reports, data and scheduling for the laboratory. You will collect specimens, ensure timely lab support, and uphold Mercy Service Standards with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include specimen processing, transport and referrals while following HIPAA and lab policies. A foundation in chemistry/biology and a high school diploma are preferred, with probationary period completion observed by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College level Chemistry, Biology or other science courses preferred.
• Previous experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
• No active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist in acquisition of laboratory specimens for testing.
• Process, transport and refer lab specimens and reports.
• Provide accurate, timely laboratory support and data for scheduling.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and Mercy service standards.
