Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is hiring a Phlebotomist/Phlebotomy Technician for PRN shifts. The role involves collecting and processing specimens, submitting to referral laboratories, and ensuring accurate patient registration under supervision.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen handling, documentation, and maintaining quality and regulatory standards. Strong customer service, teamwork, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to interact with co-workers in a team environment.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service practices in all interactions.
• Effectively communicate with all personnel to exchange accurate and timely technical information.
• Requires 2+ years experience in registration, clerical duties, and sending out of specimen processing.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in venipunctures and/or finger sticks on pediatric, neonatal, adults and geriatric patients.
• Follows established procedures for patient identification and specimen collection based on test orders.
• Maintains proper documentation and prepares specimens for courier pickup.
• Operates the laboratory information system and performs registration and order entry as requested.
