Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking a Lab Assistant / Phlebotomist to collect, process and register specimens with accuracy and care. You will perform venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks across pediatric to geriatric patients, while following established procedures and safety standards.

Additionally, you will use the laboratory information system, handle basic clerical duties, and assist in maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical Degree preferred.
• 1-3 years in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant, Paramedic or EMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and register specimens.
• Perform venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks across age groups.
• Educate patients on specimen collection procedures.
• Use laboratory information systems and document appropriately.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the collection area.
• Respond to OSR/pending specimen issues promptly.
