Job summary

SSM Health St. Clare Hospital - Baraboo is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician (PRN) to join our Laboratory department. Under direct supervision, you will perform routine tasks, may perform phlebotomy and waived testing, and provide clerical support to ensure smooth lab operation.

This role emphasizes patient care, accurate specimen collection, and reliable data entry in the EMR. The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, no prior experience is required, and a Basic Life

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
• No experience required.
• BLS HCP certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists customers including answering phones and responding to customer inquiries.
• Collects, labels, processes and preserves blood, urine and other specimens according to established procedures.
• Enters, accesses and executes lab orders in the appropriate laboratory and electronic medical record system.
• Cleans and maintains laboratory supplies and work area.
• May update statistical records, labels tubes, and schedules processing runs.
• Performs phlebotomy and/or waived testing.
