Job summary

SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles is seeking a PRN laboratory support professional. Under supervision, you will perform standard lab tasks, may perform phlebotomy and waived testing, and assist with clerical duties to support the laboratory department.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of lab experience, plus BLS HCP certification. You will handle specimen processing, order entry, and customer interactions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or 10 years of work experience).
• At least 1 year of laboratory experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS HCP) certification per AHA.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload lab specimens from instruments and perform waived testing.
• Assist in problem requisitions/specimens and orient new hires.
• Assist customers with inquiries and perform clerical duties including reception and order entry processing.
• Collect, label, process, and preserve specimens per procedures.
• Enter orders in EMR and maintain laboratory supplies and environment.
