Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System in Concord, NH is seeking a part-time Clinical Lab Assistant who performs phlebotomy with venipuncture techniques on patients of all ages and supports specimen processing for laboratory analysis.

Under supervision, you will help prepare specimens for transport, follow safety and OSHA guidelines, and travel to off-site sites within Concord as needed. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy training with an externship preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Clinical support experience in specimen processing preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate well with clients in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform in emergent or crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and processes venous and capillary blood samples required for laboratory analysis from patients of all ages upon request.
• Processes clinical specimens for delivery to laboratory departments and for pick-up by reference laboratories (when applicable).
• Performs all duties within assigned work blocks.
• Demonstrates compliance with corporate, departmental and job-specific requirements.
• Assists in the preventative maintenance and disinfection within the Specimen Processing area.
• Concord Site only: Travels to off-site locations for the purpose of phlebotomy collections.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
