Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens by venipuncture or capillary technique while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Register and order tests on patients, ensuring scripts are scanned into the system.
• Instruct patients on urine, sputum, and stool specimen collection.
• Follow chain of custody specimen collection protocols and proper patient identification procedures.
• Ensure specimen collection and labeling is complete and accurate.
• Provide patient care in a safe, efficient manner and keep carts orderly; disinfect at end of shift.
• Arrange workload to optimize patient care and efficiency in phlebotomy and processing.
• When assigned, drive as needed and adhere to traffic laws.
• Maintain professional customer service in all interactions and stay calm under stress.
• Perform other duties as required.
