HCA Florida Highlands Hospital is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist for PRN coverage. The role involves specimen collection, processing, registration, and monitoring with supervision from department leadership.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen labeling, and proper documentation to support quality and regulatory goals. The position supports the laboratory team in delivering timely results and ensuring patient safety within established procedures.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical degree preferred.
• 1–3 years in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens and register them in the LIS.
• Process and prepare specimens for testing and referral.
• Perform venipuncture and/or finger sticks as needed.
• Maintain patient safety and specimen integrity per procedures.
• Support clerical duties (phones, faxing, reports).
• Educate patients about specimen collection procedures.
