Job summary

MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization seeks a Medical Laboratory Assistant II to serve as a liaison in patient settings and perform essential pre-analytical tasks. Responsibilities include specimen collection (phlebotomy), specimen processing, waived testing, order entry, quality control, and specialty collection.

The role requires at least one year of phlebotomy and specimen management experience, with ASCP/AMT/NHA certification preferred. Travel to other work sites may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• PBT/MLA from ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred.
• Valid Driver's License may be required if travel to other sites.

Responsibilities

• Represents the organization in patient settings as a liaison.
• Performs key pre-analytical functions including specimen collection (phlebotomy) and specimen processing.
• Performs waived testing, order entry, and specialty collections as needed.
• Participates in quality control and maintains specimen integrity.
