Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Milford is looking for a Phlebotomist to handle blood specimen collection and ensure accurate processing in a professional environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and should possess or be pursuing phlebotomy training along with strong communication skills.

This full-time position operates on a day shift schedule, providing a proactive role in patient care and lab support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Phlebotomy training is preferred.
• ASCP certification or eligibility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood samples using appropriate venipuncture techniques.
• Receives specimens in the computer system and labels them accurately.
• Maintains a clean and organized drawing station.
• Registers all courier-delivered specimens accurately.
• Orders tests accurately using hospital information systems.
• Answers and transfers calls courteously.
• Performs heel sticks and PKU collections proficiently.
• Restocks supplies and maintains procedural proficiency.
