Job summary

WakeMed Health & Hospitals seeks a Clinical Services Technician to collect specimens across all age groups with minimal patient disruption. You will process and allocate laboratory specimens and orders from multiple sources, and verify proper patient and specimen identification and order accuracy.

In this role you will organize the laboratory workflow, prioritize processing and distribution, and operate equipment and computer systems to test requests, correctly label, and deliver specimens

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• 1 Year Related Position Experience Preferred.
• Licensure not Applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collects specimens on all age populations with minimal patient impact.
• Processes and allocates laboratory specimens and orders from all sources.
• Verifies proper patient and specimen identification and appropriateness of orders.
• Organizes laboratory workflow and prioritizes processing and distribution of specimens.
• Operates required equipment, instruments and computer systems to test requests, accession, label and deliver specimens within time frames.
• Performs routine maintenance and quality control on specified equipment and troubleshoots as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
