Qualifications

• 1 year phlebotomy experience in an acute care medical center or non-acute care setting or equivalent military experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Technician II or I certificate (California) required/acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, finger stick or heel stick proficiently on patients of all ages.
• Properly label samples and transport to laboratory.
• Conduct pre-analytical steps including bar coding, centrifuging, separating, logging and staining as required.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies and reagents.
• Maintain courteous relations with patients, the public and staff.
• Follow directions from supervisors and assume additional duties as needed.
