Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform routine and complex blood draws, venipuncture, and related lab procedures. The role includes patient identification, specimen handling, EKGs, and data entry into the hospital information system.

The position is Non-Exempt, part-time with 32 hours per week, schedule includes 5:00am–1:30pm and rotating weekends, located in the outpatient lab setting. A signing bonus may be available and discussed during interview.

Qualifications

• Blood collection procedures (venipuncture/capillary) per protocol.
• Respond to STAT blood work within 30 minutes.
• Verify insurance and register patient in HIS.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient using two identifiers (name and DOB).
• Perform blood draws and related procedures.
• Process and transport specimens, ensuring integrity and proper labeling.
• Enter patient data into HIS and handle documentation.
