Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Phlebotomy certificate or an associate degree in science preferred.
• Minimum one year of full-time lab training or experience preferred.
• Experience with data entry, medical terminology, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Collects venous and capillary blood specimens from inpatients, outpatients and off-site facilities.
• Performs CLIA-waived testing as trained and applicable.
• Enter test orders and verify patient and specimen data in the LIS.
• Prepare specimens for referral testing and ensure proper temperatures.
• Stock phlebotomy supplies and manage off-site transport.
• Communicate effectively with nursing units, physicians, and reference labs.
