Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED as required.
• Current California State Phlebotomy Certificate (CPT1) required.
• Two years of laboratory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and staff in a friendly manner and explain procedures.
• Validate orders in APeX and LIS; prepare labels and requisitions.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection per protocol; label and transport specimens.
• Process STATs, timed orders, and routine specimens in priority order.
• Communicate test requirements and turnaround times to patients and staff.
• Assist in handling inquiries and transport specimens to the main lab.
