Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to join our clinical team. The role involves proficiently performing phlebotomy on diverse patient populations, registering patients, collecting samples, and ensuring specimen integrity using LIS/LIS tools in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include data entry, insurance-related registration tasks, and timely communication of stat results. A high school diploma and phlebotomy training are preferred, with prior related experience considered

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Successful completion of a phlebotomy course or prior phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience as a Paramedic, EMT, CNA or MA is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Proficient with HIS/LIS to release orders or register patients.
• Perform patient registration and data entry to support sample processing.
• Collect blood specimens and perform phlebotomy.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control practices.
• Notify testing personnel of stat requests and ensure proper specimen handling.
