Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Richmond Health Source Shared Services team. The role involves drawing blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and completing clerical duties to keep the department efficient.

Travel to off-site locations is required, with duties including order entry and result look-up. Ideal candidates have a High School degree or GED, and phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
• Collects specimens according to procedures and ensures proper processing.
• Identifies patients accurately and matches identity with service for safety.
• Performs data entry and processing of specimens including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as ordered.
• Performs clerical duties like inventory checks and answering phones.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
