Job summary

Qualifications

• Six months phlebotomy experience in past 3 years may substitute for training.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Accredited phlebotomy program with 80+ hour externship in last year, or two years phlebotomy experience.
• Medical Assistant with phlebotomy training and six months phlebotomy experience in last 3 years.
• Phlebotomy certifications must be obtained within 12 months of hire; BLS within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Kaiser policies on safety, quality, and procedures.
• Greet patients and communicate instructions professionally.
• Perform specimen collection and proper labeling.
• Enter lab results into computer systems accurately.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine instrument startup/shutdown.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist with inquiries.
• Handle waived and moderate complexity tests per procedures.
