Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of concentrated phlebotomy experience within the past three years or equivalent
• High school graduation or equivalent required; accredited phlebotomy program with at least 80-hour externship within last four weeks OR two years of phlebotomy experience OR medical assistant program including phlebotomy.
• Phlebotomy certificates or licensure within 12 months of hire from ASPT, AMT, ASCP, or NHA; Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection per procedures.
• Ensure patient safety with two identifiers and time outs.
• Greet patients professionally and provide clear collection instructions.
• Enter lab results into computer systems; document results including alert values.
• Maintain equipment and perform startup/shutdown as assigned.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle routine inquiries.
