Job summary

BayCare Health System in Winter Haven, FL is seeking a phlebotomist to collect, receive and process specimens for testing. You will communicate with nursing staff and physicians, refer specimens to external labs, and perform routine phlebotomy procedures as part of a busy clinical team.

The role supports inpatient and outpatient services with flexible shifts (PRN & full-time) and requires a high school diploma; preferred phlebotomy certification and valid driver’s license may be requested.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

• Collecting, receiving, and processing inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories.
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
