Job summary

BayCare Health System in Clearwater seeks a phlebotomy technician to collect and process inpatient and outpatient specimens, communicate with nursing staff, and refer specimens to external labs as needed.

The role requires 6 months of phlebotomy experience and a High School diploma or better. A driver’s license is required; part-time or PRN shifts are available, with day and night hours and occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field.
• High School or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree may substitute experience.
• Must have Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories.
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
