Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a part-time Lab Assistant to perform venipuncture, skin puncture, and related phlebotomy tasks with emphasis on safety and accuracy. Responsibilities include specimen collection, labeling, and timely processing within a multi-facility health system.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• State Laboratory Assistant licensure required
• Current BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Draws blood competently, consistently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible.
• Records phlebotomy requisitions on log.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Labels and records all test tubes, logs procedures and files paperwork.
• Completes duties in a time efficient manner, prioritizing STAT, ASAP, scheduled orders and outpatients.
