Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join our Bedford, Texas team at Texas Health HEB. This full-time role (35 hours) on first shift from 4:00am to 2:30pm offers a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

You will perform phlebotomy procedures, follow safety guidelines, process specimens, report results, and participate in training and quality control. The position emphasizes teamwork, ongoing education, and excellent benefits including 401k and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CLIA Foreign Education Equivalency (CLIAFE) compliance required.
• 6 months phlebotomy experience preferred or completion of a phlebotomy course.
• 6 months hospital phlebotomy experience preferred.
• ASCP Phlebotomy Technician certification upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy for patient specimens and ensure proper patient identification and labeling.
• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, and safety.
• Handle unacceptable specimens according to protocol.
• Carry out established laboratory test procedures as required.
• Assist in other laboratory areas and support workflow to ensure timely patient care.
• Report and evaluate test results accurately and promptly.
• Participate in orientation, training, and continuing education activities.
• Adhere to quality control guidelines and equipment maintenance.
