Job summary

MyMichigan Health is offering a Phlebotomist Trainee position, a temporary entry-level program to provide education, training, and supervised clinical experience for a future Phlebotomist role. The trainee will receive instruction in phlebotomy procedures, patient identification, specimen handling, labeling, and related electronic systems.

Completion of the program leads to eligibility for transition to a Phlebotomist position.

Qualifications

• No prior phlebotomy experience required.
• Must demonstrate the ability to learn and perform detailed procedures accurately.
• Must demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to learn and use electronic data processing equipment in performing daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete the designated Phlebotomist training program within the established timeframe.
• Demonstrate competency in phlebotomy skills and other required duties through supervised practice and competency assessment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of patient identification and specimen labeling requirements.
• Demonstrate proper blood collection techniques while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
