Job summary

Wellpath is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team serving facility patients in a correctional environment. The Phlebotomist will collect blood samples, perform bedside testing, and ensure accurate documentation and timely lab results.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a Phlebotomy course. Prior experience in a correctional setting is preferred, with a focus on safety, confidentiality, and patient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completed Phlebotomy course.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary puncture for blood collection with accuracy and skill.
• Conducts waived or moderate complexity testing and maintains instrument QC.
• Keeps lab records and documents all invasive procedures and patient refusals in medical records.
• Complies with safety policies and maintains patient confidentiality while delivering good service.
• Works as scheduled, including holidays, providing appropriate care for current patient population.
