Job summary

Wellpath seeks a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and capillary puncture for blood specimens in a correctional facility. You will conduct waived to moderate complexity testing and ensure accurate lab results while maintaining strict safety and confidentiality.

You will also handle instrument QC, maintain records, and support timely lab completion. Relevant certification or state registration is required, with preference for correctional healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Phlebotomy course documented.
• Prior correctional setting experience preferred.
• Unrestricted current certification or registration in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture for blood specimens and conduct waived/moderate testing.
• Maintain instrument QC and preventative maintenance; stay updated on policy changes.
• Distribute specimen collection supplies and communicate patient concerns to supervisors.
• Ensure timely completion of labs and maintain lab records.
• Maintain confidentiality and provide courteous, accurate service.
