Job summary

UNC REX Healthcare in Raleigh, NC is seeking a phlebotomist to perform a variety of phlebotomy procedures and point-of-care testing to support clinical activities within the Rex Lab Customer Svcs unit.

Two shifts are available: Mon-Fri early morning with every 3rd weekend, or another early shift with weekend rotation. Prior phlebotomy experience is required unless you graduated from a phlebotomy program.

Qualifications

• One year of phlebotomy experience required.
• If graduation from a phlebotomy program, no previous experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Consults/confers with healthcare providers/patients regarding patient care as it relates to phlebotomy service issues.
• Ensures quality and accuracy of work.
• Investigates problems with equipment, patient results, specimens and/or workflow.
• May participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
• May perform teaching and training of new employees, phlebotomy students and/or other healthcare providers.
• May review test results to ensure accuracy of reporting and timely correction of errors or report results to healthcare providers.
• Performs phlebotomy procedures, quality control and equipment maintenance in the appropriate laboratory.
• Responsible for and/or ensures completion of daily work and assigned tasks. Monitors daily operation of laboratory work area.

Schedule:

Two shifts available

• Mon-Fri 4a-1230p and includes every 3rd weekend or
• Mon-Fri 3a-1130a and includes every 3rd weekend
