Job summary

UNC Health Care in Mebane, NC is seeking a full-time phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy procedures and patient point-of-care testing to support clinical activities.

The role requires one year of phlebotomy experience or graduation from a phlebotomy program; no licensure required. Work onsite, 40 hours weekly, day schedule; salary $18.48-$25.89 per hour.

• One year of phlebotomy experience required, or graduation from a phlebotomy program with no prior experience.
• No licensure or certification required.

Responsibilities

• Consults/confers with healthcare providers/patients regarding patient care as it relates to phlebotomy service issues.
• Ensures quality and accuracy of work.
• Investigates problems with equipment, patient results, specimens and/or workflow.
• May participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
• May perform teaching and training of new employees, phlebotomy students and/or other healthcare providers.
• May review test results to ensure accuracy of reporting and timely correction of errors or report results to healthcare providers.
• Performs phlebotomy procedures, quality control and equipment maintenance in the appropriate laboratory.
• Responsible for and/or ensures completion of daily work and assigned tasks. Monitors daily operation of laboratory work area.
