Job summary

McFarland Clinic in Ames, IA is accepting applications for a Phlebotomist in our Ames Lab department. The ideal candidate is service oriented, a team player, and can provide extraordinary care to patients daily.

Responsibilities include collecting and receiving specimens, preparing and dispatching for testing, performing venipuncture, heel and finger sticks, handling receptionist duties, stocking supplies, and supporting the work area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or HiSET.
• Formal training and/or experience in phlebotomy required.
• Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers.
• Mandatory Reporting of Dependent Adult and Child Abuse.

Responsibilities

• Collect and receive specimens to be tested.
• Prepare and dispatch specimens for testing.
• Perform receptionist duties and venipuncture (blood draws).
• Obtain urine and other specimens from patients; clerical tasks as needed.
• Stock and maintain supplies; keep work area clean; attend required meetings.

McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for Phlebotomist for its Ames Lab department. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include: collecting and receiving specimens to be tested. Prepares and dispatches specimens for testing. Performs receptionist duties, collects blood samples by venipuncture, heel stick and finger stick, obtains urine and other specimens from patients, performs receptionist and other clerical duties as needed, stocks and maintains supplies in work areas, helps to keep work area clean, attends required meetings and participates on committee as requested, performs related work as required.

Education

• High School Diploma, GED or HiSET.
• Formal training and/or experience in phlebotomy required

Certification/License

• Prefer Certification in Phlebotomy.
• Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers

Days

Monday - Thursday. Occasional Friday. Saturday rotation

Hours

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - 32 hours per week
