Job summary

McFarland Clinic Ames Lab is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to join our clinical team. You will collect and receive specimens, perform venipuncture and related collection tasks, and handle receptionist duties as needed to ensure smooth patient flow.

Ideal candidates hold a High School diploma or equivalent, formal phlebotomy training, and current Basic Life Support certification. Pre-employment screens and background checks apply; weekend rotation may be required.

Qualifications

Description

McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications forPhlebotomist for its Ames Lab department. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.

Responsibilities include: collecting and receiving specimens to be tested.Prepares and dispatches specimens for testing. Performs receptionist duties, c ollects blood samples by venipuncture, heel stick and finger stick, obtains urine and other specimens from patients, performs receptionist and other clerical duties as needed, stocks and maintains supplies in work areas, helps to keep work area clean, attends required meetings and participates on committee as requested, performs related work as required.

Education

• High School Diploma, GED or HiSET.

Formal training and/or experience in phlebotomy required

Certification/License

• Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
• Mandatory Reporting of Dependent Adult and Child Abuse

Days: Monday - Thursday. Occasional Friday. Saturday rotation

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - 32 hours per week

• Phlebotomy experience in fast paced clinical laboratory environment.
