Job summary

McFarland Clinic in Ames, IA is seeking a phlebotomist for its Ames Lab department. You will be service-oriented, a team player, and provide extraordinary care to our patients.

Responsibilities include collecting and receiving specimens, preparing and dispatching for testing, venipuncture by various methods, clerical duties, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean work area. This role is 32 hours per week, with Mon-Thu and occasional Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Formal training and/or experience in phlebotomy.
• Phlebotomy experience in fast paced clinical laboratory environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Collect and receive specimens for testing.
• Prepare and dispatch specimens for testing.
• Perform venipuncture, heel stick and finger stick.
• Collect urine and other specimens.
• Perform receptionist and clerical duties as needed.
• Stock and maintain supplies; keep work area clean.
• Attend required meetings and participate on committee as requested.
• Other related work as required.

McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications forPhlebotomist for its Ames Lab department. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.

Responsibilities include: collecting and receiving specimens to be tested.Prepares and dispatches specimens for testing. Performs receptionist duties, c ollects blood samples by venipuncture, heel stick and finger stick, obtains urine and other specimens from patients, performs receptionist and other clerical duties as needed, stocks and maintains supplies in work areas, helps to keep work area clean, attends required meetings and participates on committee as requested, performs related work as required.

Education

• High School Diploma, GED or HiSET.

Formal training and/or experience in phlebotomy required

Certification/License

• Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
• Mandatory Reporting of Dependent Adult and Child Abuse

Days: Monday - Thursday. Occasional Friday. Saturday rotation

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - 32 hours per week
