Job summary

McFarland Clinic is seeking MLT/MT/MLS professionals for its Story County offices in Iowa. The role involves obtaining and processing specimens, performing routine and advanced lab procedures, and ensuring quality control under LIS and clinic information systems.

The ideal candidate has an ASCP MT/MLS certification or eligibility, is a team player, service-oriented, and able to provide extraordinary care daily. Standard hours and a Monday–Friday schedule apply.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Medical/Clinical Lab Science from an accredited college or institution.
• Successful completion of a recognized course of study in MLT/MLS/CLS.
• Certification in MT/MLS (ASCP) or certification in MLT (ASCP) and/or eligibility for certification in MT/MLS (ASCP)
• Certification or eligibility for certification as MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA) or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers.
• Mandatory Reporter of Dependent Adult and Child Abuse.

• Perform routine and advanced laboratory procedures.
• Perform quality control, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
• Use the clinic information system and the laboratory information system in an appropriate manner.
• Perform and review quality control in assigned work areas.
• Assist in orientation of new employees.
• Assist in maintaining lab supply inventory.
• Attend required meetings and participate in committees as required.

McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for MLT/MT/MLS for its Story County offices. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.

Education

Experience

• 1 year clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks are a condition of hire.
