Job summary

McFarland Clinic Ames Lab is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to join our clinical team. You will collect and receive specimens, perform venipuncture and related collection tasks, and handle receptionist duties as needed to ensure smooth patient flow.

Ideal candidates hold a High School diploma or equivalent, formal phlebotomy training, and current Basic Life Support certification. Pre-employment screens and background checks apply; weekend rotation may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or HiSET.
• Formal phlebotomy training or experience.
• Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers.
• Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks.

Responsibilities

• Collect and receive specimens to be tested.
• Prepare and dispatch specimens for testing.
• Perform venipuncture, heel stick, and finger stick as required.
• Perform receptionist and clerical duties; maintain supply areas; keep work area clean.
• Attend required meetings and participate on committees as requested.
