Job summary

Conemaugh Ebensburg Outpatient Center is seeking a Phlebotomist, PRN, to join the outpatient laboratory team. You will collect and process specimens, ensure patient comfort, and coordinate with lab staff across inpatient, outpatient, and outreach locations.

You will follow safety procedures, properly identify and label specimens, and use LIS and electronic collection tools. Willingness to travel to other sites is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receipt and process specimens in inpatient, outpatient, and outreach locations.
• Interact courteously with patients, physicians, nurses and staff.
• Ensure proper collection of specimens per procedures and patient comfort.
• Follow standard precautions and PPE guidelines.
• Accurately identify patients and label specimens.
• Select appropriate collection supplies for venipuncture and other punctures.
• Interpret inpatient orders and use electronic collection devices.
• Maintain and clean phlebotomy station and equipment.
• Train staff and students in phlebotomy techniques and data entry.
• Provide customer service within training scope and maintain confidentiality.
• Travel to other locations for specimen collection.
