Qualifications

• Completion of a phlebotomy externship or one year of phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy procedures accurately and within established turn-around times.
• Recognizes abnormal situations and investigates prior to delivering specimens.
• Transports specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner.
• Answers phone calls and provides information courteously.
• Monitors specimen integrity and ensures documentation for medical necessity.
• Complies with safety standards dictated by laboratory, hospital, and regulatory agencies.
• Performs AIDET and interacts professionally with staff, patients, and visitors.
