UofL Health is seeking a versatile Phlebotomist at the Jewish Hospital - UMC in Louisville, KY. This role requires accurate blood collection, proper specimen handling, and adherence to infection control policies to support patient care across age groups.

Responsibilities include timely specimen transport, documentation, and collaboration with medical staff while maintaining confidentiality and quality standards. Ongoing training and AIDET communication are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• CPR certification (required).
• Phlebotomy program completion preferred.
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Performs phlebotomy procedures accurately within established turn-around times.
• Recognizes abnormal, unexpected situations and investigates prior to delivering specimen to the testing area.
• Transports specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner.
• Answers phone calls and provides information in a courteous and professional manner
• Monitors specimen integrity.
• Processes specimens properly and in a timely manner.
• Assures documentation for medical necessity.
• Follows safety standards dictated by the laboratory, the hospital and regulatory agencies.
• Contributes to the efficient operation of the laboratory.
• Participates in continuing education programs and performs AIDET.
• Performs other duties as assigned by laboratory leadership.
