Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of certified phlebotomy program preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy procedures accurately within established turn-around times.
• Recognizes abnormal situations and investigates prior to delivering specimens.
• Transports specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner.
• Answers calls and provides information courteously and professionally.
• Monitors specimen integrity and ensures proper documentation of medical necessity.
• Follows safety standards dictated by the lab, hospital, and regulators.
• Supports infection control and safety policies and lab operations.
• Participates in continuing education and training as assigned by leadership.
