Actalent is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract to hire position in Fairbanks, AK. The successful candidate will perform venipuncture and other specimen collections, explain procedures to patients, and ensure specimen integrity from collection through transport.

The role involves labeling, processing, and storing specimens, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with another phlebotomist to ensure smooth workflow. OSHA/DEP regulations compliance is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years venipuncture experience.
• Ability to explain procedures clearly to patients.
• Knowledge of OSHA/DEP regulations relating to specimen handling.
• Experience with specimen labeling and processing.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture blood draws and other specimen collections in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection procedures clearly to patients of all ages.
• Collect and store specimens according to procedures to maintain integrity.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain accurate records by entering patient information and specimen data.
