Job Juncture is seeking a phlebotomist for a contract role in Fairbanks, Alaska. The position requires prior phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience.

Schedule is 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with a projected duration of 3 months and potential for permanent placement. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, maintaining records, and ensuring specimens are stored and transported following established protocols.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months’ experience performing venipunctures.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and specimen labeling.
• Centrifuge and process specimens per procedures.
• Record maintenance data and decontamination tasks.
• Update patient information accurately.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with needles as required.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes and labels.
• Package specimens for transport and store per protocol.
• Follow OSHA/DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer calls and review lab results as needed.
