Responsibilities include following approved protocols for specimen handling, updating information, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations while maintaining specimen integrity for transport.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a valid Phlebotomy certification as required by the state.
• Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience performing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuging specimens and recording maintenance data.
• Decontamination, updating patient information, and ensuring proper specimen transport and storage.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes and verify labeling for accuracy.
• Attend annual department trainings and comply with OSHA regulations.
