Responsibilities

• Identifies patient, observes venipuncture procedure, collects and labels specimens as required.
• Prints collection batch and labels for phlebotomy collections.
• Adheres to infection control standards and delivers specimens promptly to the lab.
• Processes specimens for send-out per procedures and ensures timely processing.
• Participates in departmental process improvement and maintains HIPAA/c regulatory standards.
• Receives calls, documents issues, and escalates to Lead/Supervisor as needed.
• Manages supplies including inventory, ordering and stocking.
• Delivers lab supplies as appropriate and picks up/delivers samples for testing.
• Prints and delivers lab reports in a timely manner.
