Job summary

Waived testing and quality control are part of daily tasks. The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, complete a phlebotomy course or medical assistant course, or possess 6 months of lab experience with relevant certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy course or an accredited medical assistant course; or 6 months laboratory experience and certification as a Health Care Assistant.
• Training in proper phlebotomy techniques required.
• Training and/or experience in clinical laboratory preferred.
• Requires Washington State DOH Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist credential within 6 months of hire. Certification in phlebotomy skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical functions, specimen collection, specimen processing, and EKG procedures.
