Job summary

The Recruiting Hive in Columbia, MD is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role requires 2-4 years of diagnostic phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric care, along with strong patient communication skills.

Responsibilities include drawing blood, labeling and processing specimens, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to OSHA guidelines. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with benefits available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains the venipuncture process to patients in a clear and courteous manner.
• Demonstrates technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles; ensures test requisitions match documents; labels and handles specimens per protocol.
