Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and maintain data records.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection methods to patients clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Follow physicians' orders and match requisition forms to tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage temperatures.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer calls and read lab results to respond to inquiries.
