Job Title: Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative

Contract Duration: 2+ Months

Location: Shenandoah, TX

Work Type: Onsite, Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm, Friday 7 am - 4 pm

Job Description

• The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, whether as part of their routine health checks or for critical health decisions.
• The PSR II draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and follows established protocols.
• They interact directly with patients, building trust and explaining procedures clearly, while performing blood draws safely and accurately.
• The PSR II demonstrates leadership, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
• Assignments may vary between doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform daily activities accurately and timely under supervision.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Carry out forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing confidently, following protocols.
• Verify patient demographic information and obtain signatures post-venipuncture to ensure proper labeling.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment to patients, clients, and colleagues.

Job Requirements

• Provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Possess excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Be flexible and available for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
• Adhere to all policies, safety standards, and company principles.
• Make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
• Have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
• Travel and flexible hours are required to cover multiple locations with minimal notice.
• Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
• Demonstrate superior customer focus, effective communication, adaptability, and knowledge of the business.

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

• At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Experience in retail or service customer support is preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
